Welcome - We Restore And Retouch Photos
Photo Restoration & Photo Retouching Specialists
The Photo Retouch Shop is a relatively new photo retouching and photo restoration company, but we have all been in the industry for between 8 and 13 years now and know exactly what it takes to give our customers the service they want and deserve.
We want our company to grow and grow so everyone here can have a job they enjoy, a family they can support and the potential to help grow a friendly organisation.
Good design means a lot to us, and everyone here has a passion for design, whether it be model making or studying architecture, photography or knitting (Angus).
Our work is as rewarding to us as we hope it is for you. We hope that you can recommend us to anyone who may need us.
Now I’ll stop getting carried away. Thanks.

About Us - We Are Photo Restoration Experts
Great Service & Great Quality At A Great Price
Photo Restoration & Digitisation
We Recognise that historical photos are an important resource in this digital age, and day by day these treasured old photos are deteriorating and irreplaceable. We specialise in the restoration and preservation of these photographic insights into our past and help people across the globe digitise, restore and archive their family photos so future generations get the chance to see them. We treat your photos like museum pieces and take great care to restore them in a way that compliments their history and the information they hold. These photos are the only evidence of a family’s existance before the introduction of digital storage. Digital storage is not without its problems, but copies can be made in a second and stored on a separate harddrive or emailed to another family member, so the likelihood of it perishing or getting lost is minimal. Having your ancient family photos restored and digitised is our forte. We will take a look at your photos, and give you a quote before we start the work, so you know exactly how much the restoration of your photos will cost. We are extremely competitive and here to help you get the best out of your old photographs.
Wedding Photo Retouching
We’d like to offer as much as we can to our customers, and this summer we are offering huge discounts on all wedding photo retouching. 36% off our normal rates mean we can take on work we had not earlier catered for and offer a better option for you. We realise that there are lots of retouching companies out there, many are very poor setups so we thought we would offer our expertise at a competitive rate so that people don’t end up getting taken for a ride with the lesser quality operations out there.
Photo Restoration – Printing Options
We offer all our finished photo retouching and photo restoration works with printing options. If you wish to have your finished works printed either in large format or smaller formats, we can accommodate you. Just give us a ring and we can discuss your needs and give a quote, or email us using the ‘Drop us a Line‘ panel at the bottom of the page.

Frequently Asked Questions
How To etc...
Q. How long until I get my restored photos returned?
A. We aim to return your photo back to you after the full photo restoration is complete within 1 week. Usually it is within a couple of days, but this depends how busy we are. If we are very busy we will try our hardest to return it to you within a week, but will let you know at the time of your enquiry.
Q. Black and white photos to colour?
A. We can color tint your black and white photos during restoration too. This transforms them remarkably into colour.
Q. Will the photo restorations last?
A. Yes, we make sure to send you the file of your photo in a reliable format that won’t become obsolete over time. We usually send your finished photo restoration back to you in JPG format or TIFF. This should be a format that will remain in use for a very long time. If you order prints from us then your print will be guaranteed not to fade for a very long time. The type of ink used is used in commercial printing and is very stable, so sunlight will hardly have an effect over time.
Q. Will my original photo or picture be safe?
A. If you choose to send us your original photo, we recommend you send it by Special Delivery, this way ensures that it is tracked along its journey for peace of mind. We will return your photo the same way. While your photo is in our possession we will take great care of it. We are very experienced in handling photos appropriately.
Q. Can you enlarge a small picture or photo?
A. Yes we can. Enlargements depending on size can result in fine defects to be enlarged too. We will let you know if your photo is unable to be enlarged beyond a certain size. Sometimes photos depending on the original quality can become fuzzy if enlarged too much.
Q. Can you replace missing parts of a photo or picture?
A. Yes we can. If your photo has a part missing such as a part of a wall which continues in the picture or photo, then we can. If your photo has part of someone’s face missing or another detailed part of the photo is missing then we will have to have additional reference pictures sent. We will take a look at your particular photo to see what needs to be done and inform you when we quote the work.
Q. Do you work with colour photos? Do you work with black and white photos?
A. Yes we do. A photo restoration can be performed on colour photos, black and white photos, sepia tone photos and we can convert any of these to any other kind.
Q. Can you make a fuzzy picture sharp?
A. We can sharpen photos a certain amount. If your photo is too out of focus we cannot focus it.
Q. Can you combine photos or subjects?
A. Yes we can. You will need to send us all the photos containing all the elements you need combining, along with instructions of which parts of each photo you want combined. We will call you to confirm we understand your instructions and quote you for the work to be done.
Q. How do you work out what to charge?
A. We charge according to how long it takes to perform the photo restoration. If you want a photo restoration and also need it coloured too then this will take longer than the photo restoration alone, so will cost more.
Q. Can I scan the photo myself and send you the scan?
A. Yes you can. Make sure you scan at a minimum of 300dpi. If you want to enlarge the photo to some degree, then we would recommend you scan at as high a resolution as you can. We recommend you scan at 600dpi generally. You can then save the image at the highest JPG quality setting and email it to us.
Q. How can I pay for my photo restoration?
A. All our quotes are free. If you have work done, then we will send you a proof firstly, then invoice you via email. Once payment is received through PayPal we will email you’re the fully restored photo and return your original in the post to you via Special Delivery.
